Plant-Based, Vegan Casein Fully Replicates 'Traditional' Protein Taste and Functionality

Pureture has launched a plant-based, vegan casein, using yeast-based, fully plant-based materials the product offers comparable functionality to milk, a better taste and nutrition panel, whilst being more a more sustainable and lower-priced ingredient.

On a mission to better the environment and support those with dietary sensitivities and allergies, this launch aims to reshape the alternative dairy industry.

With no taste, smell, or color, Pureture's plant-based casein is a non-GMO protein and is designed to be used as a protien for cheese and other alternative dairy products like milk and yogurt. Operative aspects of cheese, like meltability and stretchiness, are often missing from vegan cheese due to binding elements, which limits the level of protein that can be added into vegan cheese. This ingredient replicates these important functions; it was thoughtfully crafted to be cleaner than other alternatives and eliminates the need for starches, gums, and emulsifiers.

Due to its proprietary technology, and method of production, Pureture can price its casein at a lower cost than the market average. The brand plans to collaborate with major dairy companies to co-brand its plant-based casein and partner with global ingredients vendors to expand its usage. Assisting corporations in the transition to plant-based casein goes beyond the product and includes revolutionizing label transparency.
